Welcome to a gentler, more joyful way to learn to read.
Taught by an experienced educator in a welcoming home setting.
For children around 5 - 8 years old.
In our class, stories become conversations. Conversations become writing. Writing becomes reading. Every lesson grows naturally from the one before it, helping children make meaningful connections while building confidence as readers and writers.
What Can I Expect?
Two hours that flow from one rich idea to the next.
If this is your child's first time in a class outside your home and you're feeling a little nervous, that's completely normal. Think of this group as the language arts portion of kindergarten. The reading, writing, and phonics work your child would be doing in a traditional classroom, brought into a warm home setting.

Every lesson is anchored in a story, poem, or song.

Stories become our gateway into real skills: tracking print, spotting details in literature, understanding characters, mastering letters.

We sing, play games, laugh, and yes — do the guided practice and worksheets that build these skills.

Every activity is intentional, led by an experienced teacher who knows exactly what a 5-8 year old needs to grow as a reader and writer.
Who is it for?
1. Homeschool and Public School families looking for creative, structured, engaging literacy instruction that bridges the space between a caring home environment and a class experience.
2. Families whose children are around 5 and 8 years old and are ready to learn to read, write, and comprehend.
3. Families whose child's birthday is just past the public school's cut-off for kindergarten and want to give their child a great start next year.
4. Families whose student is struggling with reading and/or comprehension. Not everyone is a born reader. I get it - and I know how to help!
A Class That Learns Together

Group Time — We read, discuss, and solve problems together. Kids ask questions and learn from each other while I guide the lesson.

Practice Time — New ideas get tried hands-on: a letter on a whiteboard, a sentence built together in a pocket chart, a small challenge to work through.

Learning Centers — Small groups of classmates extend the lesson through games, puzzles, and hands-on challenges — not free-choice play, but real practice disguised as play.

About Teacher Sarah.
My journey as an educator began long before I had my own classroom. While attending college, I tutored my four nieces and nephews and quickly discovered how much I loved helping children make sense of the world around them.
I earned an Associate of Applied Science in Paraprofessional Education while working as an after-school lead teacher through educational grant programs. During that time, I also served as President of my college's Education Society, where I worked alongside other future educators who shared a passion for teaching.
My first school position was as a Title I instructional assistant, providing small-group support in reading, language, and mathematics. Soon after, I joined an innovative full-day kindergarten program funded through a 21st Century Community Learning Center grant. Each day I taught approximately 60 kindergarten students, blending enrichment, hands-on exploration, and academic instruction while working alongside their traditional classroom teachers.
Wanting to continue growing as an educator, I returned to college to earn a Bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with concentrations in History and Theatre, along with my teaching certification, while continuing to teach. I later taught second grade, where I continued developing the belief that children learn best when lessons are connected, meaningful, and engaging.
After moving to Texas, our family chose to homeschool our son. That decision opened an entirely new chapter in my teaching journey. Over the years, homeschooling allowed me to rethink what education could look like when children are given time to wonder, discuss, create, and make meaningful connections between ideas.
Those experiences eventually led to the creation of Let's Do School, a growing collection of original full-length curricula designed to help students learn through introspection, conversation, creativity, and carefully connected lessons.
Today, my goal is simple: to create the kind of class I always wanted to teach in, one where children build strong literacy skills, develop confidence as learners, and discover that learning is an exciting journey of connected ideas.
Little Readers Learning Pod
Ongoing classes starting September 14, 2026.
Minimum: 4 students
Maximum: 10 students
Each Monday and Tuesday, students should attend both.
Current Class Opening: 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
More classes will be added as they fill up.
Limited spots in our small groups.
Founding family rate until 2027 — secure your spot.
Founding Family Tuition: $195 until 2027.
Regular Tuition: $225 per month.

Allergies: We do have two friendly cats who live indoors. The fat brown cat is mostly shy unless you have treats. The skinny black-and-white cat likes to attend school when it fits his schedule.
